RS232 Introduction

In telecoms, RS-232 (Recommended Standard 232) is the traditional name for a series of standards for serial binary single-endeddata and control signals connecting between a DTE (Data Terminal Equipment) and a DCE (Data Circuit-terminating Equipment). It is widely used in computer serial ports. The standard defines the electrical characteristics and timing of signals, the meaning of signals, and the physical size and pin out of connectors. The current version of the standard is TIA-232-F Interface between Data Terminal Equipment and Data Circuit-Terminating Equipment Employing Serial Binary Data Interchange, issued in 1997.

HWG-PR232 is the items connected computer RS232 interface and external equipments. This is typically made up of Polymethil Metacrilate (PMMA) as the transmitting material. This PMMA is centralized small size, high transmitting features, immunity from electromagnetic interferences, available in fully dielectric version, installation easy, better stabilization in it. RS232 Introduction

POF- Fiber Optic RS485EIA-485, also known as TIA/EIA-485 or RS-485, is a standard defining the electrical characteristics of drivers and receivers for use in balanced digital multipoint systems. The standard is published by the ANSI Telecommunications Industry Association/Electronic Industries Alliance (TIA/EIA). Digital communications networks implementing the EIA-485 standard can be used effectively over long distances and in electrically noisy environments. Multiple receivers may be connected to such a network in a linear, multi-drop configuration. These characteristics make such networks useful in industrial environments and similar applications.

Installation Procedures

1. Module Install

The POF port of this product can be both install upward or downward according to the situation when it install on Guide Rail.

2. Connection

Our RS485 has two electrical interfaces, one is RS485 port, the other is Power port. Meanwhile it is two POF ports. RS485 electrical interface is Standard PROFIBUS DB9 as shown:

Connection

Power Port is standard industrial terminals. The positive and negative poles have been marked on the products. Our products is of large power scale from 7.5V~28DCV, and current is 0.5A.

There are two POF port on our RS485saying POF1、POF2. Both of them are of function transmit and receive. Follows connecting Drawing:

Termination resistors matching

HWY-8001 is of Bus terminal resistance matching function,when switch is "on", matched resistance connects BUS;When Switch is "off", matched resistance is off the BUS. Matching impedance is 220Ω.
