FTTx: the initials of the fiber optic
Several abbreviations are generally used to refer to the optical fiber. FTTx technology is divided into five categories according to the intended uses:
FTTH (Fiber To The Home) :"fiber to the home".The subscriber is directly connected by fiber to the splitter which it depends.
FTTB (Fiber To The Building): "fiber to the building.The fiber connection goes from the splitter to the bottom of the buildings.Additional equipment distributes the flow into the apartments of Internet users.
FTTLA (Fiber To The Last Amplifier): means "to the last fiber amplifier".
FTTO (Fiber To The Office): "fiber to the desktop".This is an offer fiber specially dedicated to professionals Commes companies or governments.
FTTC (Fiber To The Curb): "fiber to the sub-distribution".In this case, the fiber optic local loop connects an ISP to national sub-distributor of the incumbent.The PSTN (xDSL - copper) then takes over until the subscriber's home.
