POF for FTTH could vastly increase internet data speeds based on POF network.
Glass Optical Fibers have brought high-speed internet which can be call backbone of the internet. However, Glass Fiber optical cannot install in the last 100meter mile between local exchanges and the home due to its too fragile and expensive where now connections based on copper wires.

This problem is solved after the cheaper alternative item – Plastic Optical fiber which shorted in POF Comes to use in network from 1990s. But in 1990-2000 years, POF was still unable to transmit data with the kind of speeds that would make it worth replacing copper.

Recently, due to the technology development, POF with a bandwidth of 1 gigabit per second over 100 meters has been developed by Japan POF Company, and devices based on POF have been developed for POF network, such Ethernet POF Switch, POF USB Adapter, POF Multimedia Socket, POF ONU, Ethernet converter.
